Operation Air Brake results slipping

DIEPPE, N.B. — The Out-of-Service rate for the Sept. 5 operation air brake was up by one point from the Sept. 2000 numbers.

The braking systems of 11,294 vehicles were inspected during the 16-hour roadside check. A total of 2,009 vehicles (17.8 per cent) were placed out-of-service because of brake related defects.

The out-of-service rate for Sept. 2000 announced event was 16.7 per cent. The next Operation Air Brake will be an announced 16-hour inspection campaign to be announced soon.
