OTA Focuses on Future Leaders with NextGen Program

Jeff Bryan, OTA chair and president of Jeff Bryan Transport

TORONTO — The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) is launching a new program to help foster talent and leadership qualities in younger members in the trucking industry.

At the OTA Spring Board Retreat in Muskoka from May 30 to May 31, they’ve created a forum for industry up-and-comers with the Next Generation program to share ideas, opinions and experiences.

“Launching this program is important to the longevity of the OTA,” said John Foss of Trailcon Leasing. “Empowering the next generation will hopefully generate a personal attachment to the organization.”

Embracing new opportunities and ideas is key to any organization. Jeff Bryan, OTA chair and president of Jeff Bryan Transport, thinks the NextGen program will allow for greater collaboration between all members of the OTA.

“As someone who considers himself sort of in between the current band of executives and managers and the new generation of professionals, I believe that by reaching out to the future leaders we get fresh modern views,” said Bryan. “New eyes are always a good thing and this is our invitation to those people to come and express their views because we’re listening and also open to share our experiences as well.”
