OTA offers new BESTPASS program
TORONTO, (March 9, 2004) — The Ontario Trucking Association, in partnership with the New York State Motor Truck Association, is offering carriers a new electronic toll program called BESTPASS.
The program not only provides discounts for New York State Thruway tolls, but also discounts for the Pennsylvania Turnpike tolls. BESTPASS allows a carrier to register for weigh station bypass in both the PrePass and NORPASS systems. Inter-operability between these systems using only one transponder is now possible, the OTA says.
Some other highlights:
BESTPASS does not compete with the other programs, it allows a carrier to take advantage of E-ZPass, PrePass and NORPASS; offers customized billing formats to make record keeping easier; incorporates a Fusion transponder for interoperability.
