TORONTO, Ont. — If your IRP registration renewal is scheduled for spring of 2002, you could be in for a big surprise according to the Ontario Trucking Association (OTA).

Effective Oct. 1, 2001, all vehicles registered under IRP are subject to a new way of collecting provincial sales tax. In an effort to help educate fleets about the new regime, the OTA will conduct two half-day training sessions.

The first will be held in London on Feb. 21 while the second will be in Toronto on Feb. 26. To register, contact Shelly Hill, of the OTA education department, at 416-249-7401.

The cost per delegate for OTA members is $69 while non-members will pay $99.
