Overall rail freight down, intermodal up

OTTAWA, Ont. — A total of 21.5 million tonnes of freight was loaded by the nation’s railways in October, which was down 1.7 per cent.

Intermodal tonnage amounted to an additional 2.1 million tonnes – an increase of 6.8 per cent from this time last year.
