PeopleNet Gives Contrans Innovator Award

BOCA RATON, FL— PeopleNet gives the 2012 Innovator of the Year Award to Contrans Group from Woodsock, ON, at the 10th annual user conference on Aug. 9.

The awards are given to PeopleNet’s customers for their innovation and are given in three categories, based on size of fleet.

The 2012 recipients of the Innovator of the Year Awards:

500-Plus Trucks Category

Contrans Group from Woodstock, ON. The company is part of the Fuel Ahead program, which points drivers to the closest fuel stops offering the best prices. They also have in-cab scanning with border-crossing processes to ensure documents arrive at the border before the trucks in order to meet regulations.

Another recipient was the Grocery and Food Service divisions of McLane Company, Inc. from Texas. The company has 2,300 in-cab computers with Wi-Fi and PeopleNet reports on hours-available projection and a report to track adherence to specialized state labor regulations.

100-500 Trucks

Saddle Creek Logistics Services has worked with PeopleNet to record CNG trucks’ miles-per-gallon with an onboard computer that converts natural gas consumed by the engine to diesel equivalent gallons.

Under 100 Trucks

Holiday Companies from Bloomington, Minnesota, switched from a manual payroll process to an automated method, eliminating potential mistakes and a lot of paperwork for drivers.
