Peterbilt expands FreedomLine availability

DENTON, Texas (Sept. 17, 2001) — Peterbilt Motors Co. said it will offer ZFMeritor’s fully automated, mechanical transmission for all of its heavy-duty conventional tractors.

The FreedomLine, introduced on Peterbilt’s Model 387 last year, is now available for Models 385, 379, 378, and 357. It is optional with the Cummins ISX engine and a torque rating of up to 1650 lb ft. It will be available for use with Caterpillar’s C15 this fall.
