Peterbilt introduces SkyVent sunroof

DENTON, Tex. — Enjoying fresh air on the road just got easier for owner/operators picking up new Peterbilt 379s or 378s.

With the purchase of a 70-inch sleeper, trucker buyers can also select an optional SkyVent sunroof, the OEM recently announced.

The SkyVent, which can be electrically controlled by switches on the dash and sleeper control panel, is more than two feet wide and one-and-a-half feet long for maximum ventilation.

“The new SkyVent provides customers with additional ventilation and ambient light, creating a greater feeling of openness in an already spacious sleeper environment,” says Peterbilt assistant general manager Dan Sobic. “This is an option that, once experienced, will be more necessity than luxury.”

The SkyVent comes with a snap-on bug screen and a snap-on light-blocking shade.
