OAKVILLE, Ont. — The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada’s agenda is in place for its 24th Annual Conference, taking place Sept. 27, at the Toronto Airport Hilton Hotel.

The one-day conference will feature Federal Transport Minister, David Collenette, and Ontario’s Minister of Transportation, Brad Clark. Clark will open the conference with a “Meet the Minister Breakfast” and Collenette will address attendees during the annual PMTC Awards Luncheon.

Two seminars dealing with important labor issues will be held.

The first, “Labor Law vs Labor Relations” features Christopher Andree, LL.B., of the firm Crawford, Chondon and Andree. Chris will provide guidance on how anyone dealing with employees in Canada’s changing labor environment can achieve compliance with labor law as well as good labor relations.

The second seminar on “Road Rage: Protecting Your Drivers”, will be lead by Mark Diacur, a professional trainer. He will discuss how you can help your drivers stay out of situations that could prove life-threatening.

The Annual PMTC Awards Luncheon highlights the conference and includes the PMTC — Zurich Canada Private Fleet Safety Awards; the PMTC — 3M Canada Vehicle Graphics Design Awards; and the PMTC’s Driver of the Year and Executive of the Year Awards.
