STE-THECLE, Que. — The Surete du Quebec says it has hamstrung a theft ring specializing in heavy machinery.

The network operated in construction sites across Quebec and even possessed float trucks to transport the merchandise. Some of the stolen vehicles have been located, but investigators explain they have yet to determine how the gang disposed of the stolen goods.

According to Surete du Quebec agent Richard Gagne the network operated in various regions across the province.

Charged with theft, receiving stolen goods and conspiracy are Stephane Gauthier, Gaetan Metivier and Jonathan Audy of Ste-Thecle in Mauricie and Stephane Fontaine of Montreal.
