QUICK THINKING TRUCKER AVERTS DISASTER

SOUIX NARROWS, Ont. — When the driver of a Derouard sawdust truck heading north on Hwy. 71 last Saturday, saw a gas truck sliding sideways towards him, he had to think fast.

He immediately pulled his truck off the road and edged it over as far a he could to avoid a tragic outcome. As it was, the sliding transport came to rest on its side in the ditch and no one was injured in the incident.

Weather conditions undoubtedly played a factor in the accident as several area highways were closed due to poor visibility and road conditions on the day in question.

Neither truck drivers’ name has been released at this point.
