Ravens to dump steel trailer lines

HALEYVILLE, Ala. (Dec. 16, 2002) — Fontaine Trailer Co. said its Ravens division will cease production of steel dump trailers and focus on aluminum flatbed and aluminum dump products.

The company said its steel trailer plant in Knox, Ind. will close on Dec. 20. The plant produced three trailer models, the Materializer, Eliminator, and Terminator.

“Ravens builds one of the best aluminum trailers — flat or dump — on the market today,” said Fontaine Trailer president Jim Wilfore. “Eliminating our steel dump line will allow us to focus on what Ravens does best.”

Ravens builds flatbed trailers in Kent, Ohio, and frametype and frameless aluminum dump trailer products in Jacksonville, N.C.
