HAWKESBURY, Ont. — Quebec trucking giant Robert has secured a 170,000 square-foot facility just off Hwy.17, just east of Ottawa, Ont.

According to Gilles Chatelain, who will manage the facility, the location will be a distribution centre for the large fleet which currently operates terminals relatively nearby in Hull, Que. as well as Lachute.

“We’re starting to get carpenters in to work next week,” he says. The facility, which was previously operated by Amoco, will require several upgrades and repairs to handle the fleet’s operations.

Chatelain isn’t expecting Robert to begin using its new digs until much later this year. He insists, however, once that does happen, business will continue as usual at the company’s two previously mentioned terminals.
