MIAMI, Fla. — Ryder System Inc. wants to start rewarding its regular customers.

The company has created Ryder RedZone, a loyalty program for its commercial rental customers. It is open now to US clients, and should be available to Canadians in early 2015.

The program works by awarding members 10% of their organization’s net rental spend in points which can be redeemed for merchandise. Members also have the option of earning extra points by agreeing to answer poll questions, with each poll being worth 50 points. Ryder describes the type of rewards as “lifestyle, sports, and Ryder-branded merchandise options such as hotel stays, consumer electronics, and home and garden supplies.”

“Ryder RedZone is a value added program for rental customers that delivers a great outlet for members to order products for our employees,” said Cary Simon, executive vice-president of SNS Logistics and Ryder RedZone member. “We pride ourselves on our commitment to customer service so we appreciate that Ryder does the same with its innovative Ryder RedZone customer loyalty program.”
