SAINT JOHN, N.B. — The Gardner Creek Bridge (east of Saint John) will be closed to traffic beginning at 8 a.m. next Wednesday.

The provincial Department of Transportation says the closure, on Route 111 near the intersection of the Rankin Road at Quinn’s Hill, is necessary to replace some existing beams and to replace the deck.

The work will last about four weeks. During this time, traffic will be re-routed via the Rankin Road, Lockery Road and Route 825.
