Sterling, Western Star expand dealer network

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio (March 28, 2003, via truckinginfo.com) — A major expansion of the Western Star Trucks dealer network is underway with 70 new dealer locations added in the past 18 months.

“We have said previously that we intend to significantly grow the Western Star brand in the U.S. and Canada,” said John Merrifield, senior vice-president of sales and marketing for Western Star Trucks. “Expanding our dealer network is a key part of that strategy.”

Merrifield said more than 90 new Sterling Truck locations have been added in the United States and Canada recently, bringing the total number of sales, parts, and service locations across the Sterling network to more than 300.

According to Merrifield, the new locations have significantly expanded the company’s sales, service and parts capabilities, which gives customers a stronger support network.
