Storm wreaks havoc on Acadia

HALIFAX, N.S. — A storm that blew through the Maritimes last night ripped across Nova Scotia with hurricane-force winds leading to many traffic accidents.

The weather brought snow to some areas, rain and freezing rain to others, and high winds roared just about everywhere. Today there are testaments to the power of the fierce winter storm everywhere you look, observers say.

Police add, however, that miraculously no serious injuries related to the gale were reported.
