ASSINIBOIA, Sask. — The Saskatchewan Department of Highways and Transportation will spend $3.1 million to surface 16.1 km of Hwy. 13 this year.

Work is anticipated to begin in early May and should be completed by late September.

The project will begin on the eastern outskirts of Assiniboia and will continue 16.1 km east. A double seal coat will also be applied to this section as the finished surface.

W. F. Botkin Construction Ltd. of Regina was awarded this surfacing project. The work is required in part due to increased heavy-truck traffic, the department says.
