ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Truckload Carriers Association is supporting members of the Coalition for Transportation Safety and Efficiency in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the U.S. DOT.

A letter was sent to Joe Clapp, the Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), last month. It requested information from the Hours-of-Service (HOS) proposed rulemaking docket.

Information being requested includes the review and analysis of comments with recommendations regarding the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on HOS.

Also requested is the response to FMCSA’s Request for Proposal that led to the awarding of the contract with IFC Consulting and all electronic data and software submitted to the FMCSA by contractor Conwal, Inc. relating to the HOS rulemaking published on Feb. 5, 2000.
