Terion Network Expands With CBC Agreement

MELBOURNE, Fla. (June 27, 2000) — Terion Canada Communications Inc. and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) have signed a long-term service agreement for FM coverage throughout Canada.

Terion’s unique two-way communication system uses the FM radio frequency range to transmit text messages between trucking companies and their drivers. The system allows trucking companies to increase dispatch efficiency and fleet management effectiveness. FM radio represents an attractive cost alternative to satellite based communication systems. “This agreement will expand our current coverage to include all of the heavily traveled truck corridors,” Bruce Caven, vice president and general manager of Terion Canada Communications said in a press release. “The partnership with the CBC will serve as a single point of contact for all of our FM network deployment.”

Terion has been selling communications systems to fleets operating from Windsor to Montreal since October 1999 and coverage will expand to the balance of the company’s Canadian FM Network during 2000.

Terion Inc. is a business-to-business wireless application service provider using two-way wireless communications. The company currently operates in the United States and eastern Canada. Service will commence in Mexico in 2001. The company’s patents and other intellectual properties include digital high-frequency technologies originally developed under contract by Harris Corporation as a nationwide backup communication system. Terion has adapted this technology to commercial application, providing a low-cost communication alternative with comprehensive geographic coverage. It also has applications and intellectual property in cellular and PCS technologies.
