NEW YORK, N.Y. — According to the May 6 issue of Time magazine, truck driving is one of the hottest jobs going.
In an article entitled “The Coming Job Boom,” Time examines the current shift in the job market as the U.S. economy comes out of recession and baby boomers start retiring in droves.
The magazine says its hot jobs are those with the largest predicted grown between 2000 and 2010. Trucking actually tied with registered nurses for third place with 561,000 jobs predicted.
They rank behind only teachers and computer software engineers on the list. Mechanics, another hot job, was eighth on the list.
Among the “Cold Jobs,” the magazine’s editors fingered parts salespeople.
