VICTORIA, B.C. — It was man versus machine at Challenge 2001, but Insurance Corp. of British Columbia (ICBC) commercial vehicle inspectors demonstrated that it’s not easy to slip one by them.

The friendly competition, which served as the B.C. leg of the North American Inspectors Championship (NAIC), pitted commercial vehicle inspectors against big rigs with hard to find mechanical defects and driver logbook inaccuracies.

ICBC inspector, Jerry Lennox was the top scorer, and he will represent the province at the NAIC in Minneapolis in August.

Individual category winners included: Jason Odland, cargo tank inspection; John Burns, personal interview; Kari Mackichan, bus inspection; Raymond Harris, dangerous goods inspection; Harji Bisla, driver interview; and Richard Roberts, vehicle inspection.
