TORONTO, Ont. — Toromont Industries has been awarded the Sterling Truck territory for Mississauga and has purchased the Sterling Truck assets of Tower Ford Sales.

Tower Ford Sales, in Mississauga, will operate as “Ontario Sterling,” a stand-alone business unit of Toromont. It will be headquartered at existing facilities at 800 Gana Court in Mississauga.

“Ontario Sterling adds a new dimension to Toromont and presents an exciting growth opportunity for company expansion into the heavy duty, principally vocational, truck business,” says Hugo T. Sorensen, Toromont president and chief operating officer.

“Toromont expects to participate in the anticipated future consolidation of truck dealers within the Sterling network,” Sorensen noted.

Jordan Markoff will serve as General Manager of Ontario Sterling and will report to Toromont Industries Corporate office.

Toromont’s existing on-highway truck service business, within the Caterpillar dealership, will continue to support and serve all truck dealers and their customers under the leadership of Peter Bryce, the company noted.

Toromont Industries, which operates Canada and the U.S., makes construction equipment, power, refrigeration and process systems.
