Toronto Trucking Association makes donation to help Fort Mac wildfire evacuees

TORONTO, Ont. — The Toronto Trucking Association announced today that it has donated $5,000 to the Red Cross for the Fort McMurray wildfire relief.

Connie Burbidge, the executive director with the Toronto Trucking Association said the TTA’s Board of Directors voted unanimously to donate the $5,000 knowing that the federal government would match this donation. The Red Cross has over 80,000 people registered for relief.

The TTA said in a release that it wanted to help since it knows there are many transportation companies and employees suffering great personal and business losses because of the fire.
