LONDON, Ont. — A London mechanic was killed yesterday, when the tanker-truck he was working on was hit by another semi.

The accident, at Tubby’s Bus and Trucks, crushed 38-year-old Mark Alward when the trailer rolled over him as he worked to change an alternator.

“I’m pretty shook up, we all are,” shop foreman Brad Anderson told local media. “This is going to be a long night . . . I don’t know how we’re going to get through it.”

“He’s a good man,” says co-worker Andy Dunn. “We all joked around all the time . . . he’s part of this place.”

Police are unsure whether charges will be laid in connection with the tragedy.
