Trailer orders strong in August: ACT Research

COLUMBUS, Ind. – As outlined in the most recent State of the Industry: U.S. Trailers, published by ACT Research, August was a strong month for the trailer industry as trailer orders were once again above average.

“Both new and net order posted gains of 30% month over month in August,” said Frank Maly, director, CV Transportation Analysis and Research at ACT. “Strength was widespread,” he said, “with nine of ten trailer categories showing month over month and year over year growth.

As far as numbers go, there were 25, 191 net orders in August and low cancellations, indicating fleet commitment is solid.
