Trailmobile to acquire Strick

CHICAGO (Dec. 20, 1999) — Trailmobile Corp. has signed an agreement to acquire the dry van trailer business of Strick Corp. Strick currently produces vans in Indiana and Pennsylvania and will shortly open a new plant in South Carolina.

A joint venture in Juarez, Mexico, which produces trailers for Strick and a flooring plant in Pennsylvania are also included in the acquisition. Trailmobile will also support existing Strick products through parts distribution.

The agreement does not affect Strick’s container chassis business based in Berwick, Pa.

Trailmobile, which currently has plants in Illinois, Kansas, Arkansas, and Ontario, expects the Strick acquisition to give it a greater presence in the East.
