WINNIPEG, Man. — A Canadian National (CN) Railway freight train carrying dangerous goods has derailed in Winnipeg’s St. Boniface area.

The 85-car train left the tracks, prompting evacuations of nearby homes.

A mysterious liquid leaking from one boxcar was determined to be cooking oil upon investigation.

The cause of the accident is still being examined by CN investigators.
