TransForce buys flatdeck specialist

SAINT-LAURENT, Que. (June 28, 2000) — TransForce Inc. said it has reached an agreement to buy Entreprises R.R. Mondor Inc., a Quebec-based flatdeck specialist with $13 million in annual revenues.

TransForce, Canada’s largest for-hire trucking group, said R.R. Mondor would become a wholly owned subsidiary and operate independently under its existing name.

A purchase price was not disclosed. The transaction is scheduled to close next month, TransForce said.

R.R. Mondor employs 80 people and 14 owner-operators, while operating a fleet of 100 tractors and trailers.
