VANCOUVER, B.C. – TransLink chair, George Puil, resigned from his position as head of the TransLink board yesterday.

He will, however, remain on the board and keep his seat on the Vancouver city council.

“I’ll still be around,” Puil told local media after the surprise announcement. “I’ve still got a lot to do around the GVRD.”

The veteran politician is known as one of Vancouver’s most infamous city councillors, and he was involved in implementing the latest four cent per litre fuel tax hike.
