ST. JOHN’S, Nfld. — The Canadian Transportation Research Forum (CTRF), which consists of 300 to 400 individuals who work to improve Canada’s transportation systems, is currently gathered here.

The provincial transport minister was among those to welcome the national forum of representatives from organizations such as Transport Canada, the Canadian Transportation Agency, academic institutions and private industry, to province for its annual meeting.

“I am very pleased to welcome members of the CTRF to the province,” says Percy Barrett, Works, Services and Transportation Minister. “The conference is important to this province and the entire country because it provides members of Canada’s transportation industry and technical and academic experts the opportunity to exchange ideas, research results and to discuss issues in transportation.”

The research forum will wrap up its meeting tomorrow. For more information on the CTRF, visit www.ctrf.ca.
