Truck World 2002 opens

TORONTO (Sept. 26, 2002) — Truck World, Canada’s largest trucking industry show, opens today and runs through Saturday at the National Trade Centre (CNE Grounds) in Toronto.

The show, owned and managed by the Ontario Trucking Association, is the largest exposition of products and services in the country. Among the highlights:

* Dupont Show and Shine: More than 100 trucks from Canada and the United States will compete for cash and other prizes, with the awards being presented at noon on Saturday.

* National Truck Maintenance and Technology Conference: The conference runs this morning and Friday morning and features seminars on engines, wheels, brakes, and safety management. Maintenance Conference registration is separate from Truck World. Admission to entire two-day conference is $185; one day $100.

* Truck World Job Fair & Career Exposition

Admission to the show is $15. Children under 16 are admitted free. Admission to the outdoor show and shine is free.

The show is scheduled every second year. In 2000, the inaugural Truck World show drew over 12,000 visitors who came to meet with 460 exhibitors on 400,000 square feet of show floor space, show organizers said.
