Trucking companies asked to help out

SURREY, B.C. — The trucking community is once again being asked to pitch in toward a worthwhile cause, this time by the Surrey RCMP and Insurance Corp. of B.C. (ICBC).

Trucking companies are being asked to help transport 12 cases of bottled water provided by Culligan weighing 28 pounds each to Silver Star Mountain Resort in Vernon by the last week of November.

The water is being sold by high school students there to raise money for the B.C. Counterattack Road Sense Program an effort to decrease the number of car crashes involving young drivers.

The ambitious program, supported by ICBC, is in the process of recruiting more schools to participate and help spread the word about safe driving.

Fleets interested in helping transport the water can contact Kevin Hill of Culligan Water by calling 604-830-1935.
