ANN ARBOUR, Mich. — Con-Way Central Express, a regional LTL commercial freight carrier is opening two new replacement facilities located near Springfield, Mo. and Chicago, Ill.

The Missouri facility, located on a 20-acre site in Marshfield, will continue to provide next-day delivery services to most Midwest markets with a greater capacity to handle increased freight volumes.

The new 84-door freight assembly centre is expected to move 1.5 million pounds of inbound and outbound freight per day and is scheduled to open May 4.

The 90-door Chicago facility (which opened Apr. 22) located at 3000 West 36th St., replaced an existing terminal in the Chicago area. The new facility is closer to highways, and has increased freight handling capacity with an additional 46 dock doors and 17,000 square feet of dock space.
