ATLANTA, Ga. — Hyundai does not yet have a presence in North America’s commercial vehicle market, but it is showing its interest with the HDC-6 Neptune concept vehicle — a unit designed to run on hydrogen-electric fuel cells.

“Our ultimate goal is to manufacture vehicles that do not require any fossil fuels and emit zero carbon,” said Edward Lee, head of the OEM’s commercial vehicle division, during an unveiling at the North American Commercial Vehicle Show.

Even the trailer would play a role in the Neptune’s range, incorporating auxiliary electric motors and batteries to extend range and offer support when climbing hills.
