Volvo extends deadline for safety award competition

by Truck News

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Volvo Trucks has extended its deadline for entering its 2015 Safety Award Competition.

Interested patrons now have until July 17 to enter the competition. The two fleets with the safest driving record and top safety programs will receive the award along with $25,000 to be used for its safety-related activities.

It is open to all US and Canadian fleets with more than five class 8 units. They must also have at least one Volvo tractor in operation. Entrants will be ranked by accident frequency rates and be judged on accident prevention activities.

The two grand prizes will be awarded to the fleets with the best records in two divisions based on annual vehicle miles travelled: less than 20 million miles and more than 20 million miles. The winners will be presented during the American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference & Exhibition in October 2015 in Philadelphia.
