Waycon celebrates 25th anniversary with expansion

CHATHAM, Ont. (Nov. 19, 2002) — Waycon International Trucks, a full-line medium and heavy truck dealer for International Truck and Engine Corp. Canada based in Chatham, Ont., celebrated its 25th year of business with a $1 million investment to renovate the dealership.

Upgrades will allow the company to offer truck maintenance and repair service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, said Waycon president Wayne Connor.

“We’re now hiring fourth- and fifth-shift technicians and are upgrading our in-house and on-road mobile service capabilities,” Connor said. “Customers can now have their trucks serviced and repaired at any time on the weekends while their operations are shut down.” Mobile emergency repairs and servicing is also available around the clock.

Waycon employs 85 people. It specializes in diesel engine overhauls, driveline repairs, diagnostics, refrigeration and air-conditioning repair, alignment and balancing, body and paint refurbishing, and all-makes servicing.
