Windsor Workshop cancelled

WINDSOR, Ont. (April 28, 2003) — Organizers of Windsor Workshop 2003 have announced that the June 2 – 5 event has been cancelled. The Windsor Workshop is an annual technical forum on transportation fuels, fleets, and vehicle technologies.

In an e-mail to workshop session chairs, speakers, and delegates, Chair Nick Beck said the event, which is co-hosted by Natural Resources Canada and the U.S. Dept. of Energy, as well as Environment and Transport Canada, was cancelled due to a number of factors, not the least of which were low registration numbers and the possible unavailability of many key industry and government partners. “Many individuals and organizations have made significant investments and contributions to this conference, so cancelling it was not a decision we made lightly,” Beck wrote. “Full refunds will be issued immediately.”

Beck also said the cancellation should not impact next year’s workshop, scheduled to take place in June.
