Young Leaders Group Reaching Out To New Trailblazers

OAKVILLE, ON — After a successful year with its Young Leaders Group (YLG), the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) is looking to recruit new members who want to become an activate part of the next generation of trailblazers in the trucking industry.

The YLG began in early 2012, with a kickoff event in February where close to 20 young leaders gathered and shared opinions on what the group’s objective should be. The result: a sub-sect of the PMTC with goals tailored to their needs.

“I really wanted to help start and build a network of people that are of a younger age in an industry that seems to be ruled by an older age of people,” says Ryan Fletcher, a project manager with PeopleNet and one of the founders of the group.

He says the YLG is a great resource “both for building relationships, networking, but also to learn for our future career developments.”
