TROY, Mich. — ZF Meritor LLC has picked Nexiq Technologies to provide its eTechnician Web-based diagnostic tool for the FreedomLine and SureShift transmissions.

The wireless system offers remote, universal two-way messaging between the vehicle and ZF Meritor technicians and dealers. eTechnician delivers remote diagnostics and command/control applications, such as vehicle location; alert notifications; vehicle configuration identification; enhanced data storage; fuel economy information; and route management through mobile dispatch.

It is available to fleets as an OEM-installed option or as an aftermarket-installed option.

“eTechnican is a perfect partner for our FreedomLine and SureShift transmissions,” says Rick Martello, president of ZF Meritor. “It shows how innovative technology can be brought to the commercial vehicle market and also provide bottom-line value to our customers.”
