FMCSA Grants HOS Exemption to Certain Haz-Mat Loads
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) last week announced its decision to grant motor carriers transporting security-sensitive hazardous materials requiring a security plan an exemption from the county's hours-of-service (HOS) regulations that prohibit truckers from driving more than eight consecutive hours since the driver's last off-duty or sleeper-berth period of 30 minutes or more.

Allison traces its corporate linage back to the founding of the Indianapolis Speedway Team Co. on Sept. 14, 1915, by James A. Allison, co-founder of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and owner of several racing teams. The prominent entrepreneur and businessman established a precision machine shop and experimental firm in the Town of Speedway called Allison Experimental Co. to support his endeavors.
Coalition Looks to Solve U.S. Truck Parking Problem
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A new National Coalition on Truck Parking will work to find solutions to the U.S. truck parking shortage, after a U.S. Transportation Department (DOT) survey affirmed the trucking industry's complaints about a lack of truck parking information and capacity.
