ATA airs carbon cap ‘n trade concerns
ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Expressing concern over the impact that pending cap-and-trade legislation could have on the economy and the price of fuel, an American Trucking Associations industry official urged Congress to take a cautious approach to climate change initiatives.
Missouri biodiesel bill dead
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- A bill that calls for a mandatory B5 biodiesel standard in Missouri has died in the state legislature. The House Transportation Committee decided to kill the bill, which would have required that all diesel sold at the retail level be 5 percent biodiesel by July 2010.
CTA-BCTA want clarity on biodiesel tax status
OTTAWA -- In response to lobbying efforts by the Canadian Trucking Alliance and member trucking associations like the BCTA, an International Fuel Tax Agreement subcommittee has agreed to develop a database with jurisdiction-specific information regarding alternative fuels and will consider including information on biofuel refunds.
