Trucking HR Canada has named Michelle Arseneau of GX Transport the 2026 recipient of the Women with Drive Leadership Award.

The award, first introduced in 2023, recognizes trailblazing women in trucking and logistics who support diversity and the advancement of women across the sector.

“Michelle has been a proud champion of Women with Drive since its very beginning,” said Angela Splinter, CEO of Trucking HR Canada, in a video presentation on March 5 during the 12th annual Women with Drive Leadership Summit in Toronto. “With more than 35 years of impact and innovation in Canada’s transportation and logistics sector, Michelle has consistently turned vision into action.”

Arseneau began her career with Manitoulin Transport before co-founding GX Transport, helping guide the company’s growth for more than 25 years. Splinter said Arseneau’s leadership extends beyond business success through her involvement in professional associations and education initiatives supporting the next generation of industry professionals and leaders.

“She’s always pushing the boundaries in terms of customer service and what she can deliver to her customers,” added Jeff Stralak, assistant vice president and general manager of Western Canada at Honda Canada in the video tribute. “But more importantly, she’s always making space for those who haven’t actually had a great opportunity in this industry… she’s been a champion of the women in this industry for as long as I’ve known her.”

Accepting the award, Arseneau said: “It is truly an honor, and something I will never forget. This is — aside from maybe birthing my children — one of the best days of my life.

Past recipients of the award are: Susan Ewart, executive director of Saskatchewan Trucking Association in 2025; Angelique Magi, vice president and head of insurance at Element Fleet Management in 2024; and Linda Young of Bison Transport received the inaugural award in 2023.
